This is the only info I have and pics are sellers. I thought it might be silver because of the gilding but I can’t find the maker, seller says it’s from Finland. I haven’t messaged the seller, As it’s been for sale for weeks I am dubious. Any thoughts or info please? Thanks

Nice set. If it is Finnish silver, it should be fully hallmarked. The name/marks are very blurry, so I can't say anything about them.
But here is a very good Finnish source on hallmarks that I always use, maybe it helps:

Thanks AJ, thats a site I hadn’t seen before.
There should be a crown mark somewhere if it is silver but all I can make out is Loyal or Royal and some other fuzzy mark.

In that case I would think it is plated, as the seller says. Finland has even more marks than the UK, so you'd see a whole row of them.;)

The seller doesn’t say plated in the ad, just says silver and gold.
They don’t show the bases of any of the pieces so I thought the letters I could sort of see might have been the retailers name.
I suppose I could ask to see the bases, they might be really keen to get rid of them by now!

IF the seller REALLY wants to sell, they SHOULD be perfectly willing to send you or POST GOOD, CLEAR images of ANY/ALL identifying marks, NOT BLURRY ones!!!! Otherwise, I too would be VERY concerned/dubious!!!

That second screenshot in post 1, looks like the letters might end in ALP which is the European abbreviation for Alpacca (an alloy used frequently in silver plated goods as a base metal or as mounts. Notice I said "might."

I think Bakersgma and Cheryl have convinced me I can see ALP too so I think it’s very likely not silver. It has been on the site here for 9 weeks and I would suppose it would have been snapped up by now by someone like MrNate.
    Thank you to all:)

Easily could be.....I think the 'back of head' swelling is all gone....but still hurts like a 'son of a gun' if I touch it....solution- DON'T touch it!!!!!! DUUHH!!!:joyful::joyful::joyful::jawdrop::joyful: (Thanks for asking....and DH's 91 y/o bro passed last night....totally expected...and now it's down to the last two....Life happens, but it was a very peaceful and blessed passing with some of his family at his side. I'm SO glad DH & I got up to at least say a last goodbye earlier last night for DH's sake!)

Haha, indeed I would have tried to get more info on a listing like this. I would also say it never hurts to follow up with a seller like this. Asking for additional photos is sometimes the start to a conversation...Something like this:

Me: Hi, if it's not too much trouble can I please see a photo of the bottom of one of the pieces? And could I also see a closer photo of the inscription?

    Them: Yes here they are

Waits for photos...if it's real stuff, buy it, if not:

Me: Oh that's great thank you, and will you be listing anymore silver items in the future? I collect teasets, flatware, cups etc...

That message above has proven to be quite fruitful sometimes...can't hurt.
