Just wondering if anyone knows anything about Pierre Bex?
I’ve found out it’s made in France between 1969 and 1980 (so much for a trombone clasp being 20s:banghead:) but no information about dating earlier or later pieces. Most I can see are the ones with diamanté and a resin finish which this hasn’t got.
I’ve looked on the PB website and can’t find this brooch either on the page of brooches or on the old catalogues.
    Apparently they used old stampings?
Maybe there just isn’t any more information about dating out there?
    Thanks for looking

That's a magic name where I come from! Enamel predecessor of Catherine Popesco. I've heard the name but never seen a piece in person.

As for the trombones, they're still using them, so whoever said they were from the 20s was talking through his hat. Unless he meant 2020s.

No I didn’t. I’ll look there, that’s a good idea. There are many on eBay uk, just not like this one!.
Thats a good site but I’ve had a good look and can’t find this one in the brooches or catalogue pictures. They all seem to be the resin & Diamante type.

I've never seen a Bex like that. As you say, usually the Art Deco styles.

is it possible someone took the needle part of a broken Bex one and soldered it to another one in "style nouille" ? noodle style that is; seems I'm hungry...

Nice, K. I agree, Art Nouveau style, instead of the usual Bex Art Deco style.
The trombone clasp was invented in 1850 and was used for a very long time.:)

It did occur to me that the clasp was borrowed but I haven’t had time to look closely to see. I will investigate later.
Having said that the dangle appears to be similar to some of their pressed flower affairs.

For some reason I thought they were 1920s ish and were replaced by roll over clasps. I stand corrected!

I've got modern pieces with trombone clasps. Very popular in the Middle East, they're so secure.

    Go here on far right:
    Recherche approfondie

Under blue Rechercher button you'll find:
    Recherche incluant

The second box is Completed Listings:
    Ventes terminées

The third box is Sold Listings:
    Ventes réussies

But a little secret... All eBay international sites use the exact same search template. So if you know where the buttons are on an English-language site, you shouldn't have any difficulty finding them regardless of the site's language.

but sadly the categories are still "nationalized" and you may not being shown everything when looking "worldwide". especially ebay.fr is a complete PITA in those respects; the sequence seems to be France - neighbouring countries - Europe - the rest of the world. so when I search something typical non-French I go to ebay.de, ebay.co.uk etc..
