I found this in a box of $3.00 pins and brooches so if it's nothing it is not really a big deal.
It is 2" diameter and 12.66 grams
Is it called pierced? filigree? These search terms bring up similar, but I was wondering what they are called.

This one is filigree. Filigree is handmade from thin wire. So it takes a long time and patience to make one of these.

Probably about right. The question is where it came from.

With filigree it is usually difficult to find an answer to that question.
Could be Italy, could be Indonesian Djokja/Yogya filigree, could be a lot of others. Not Portugal, wrong style and wrong mark.
