Been doing a little research but wanted to share the pictures I took of the bronze that came in. She is 18" tall and gosh she is heavy. I am assuming this would be AUGUSTE JOSEPH PEIFFER (French, 1832-1886). Now is it real? I don't know? How old is it? I have no idea? But... It's pretty. LOL! I think it might have had a base at one time... Maybe? Lot's of pictures here.

Thanks. I am still learning how to use this new camra. I am a Cannon girl but I lost my Cannon in the last great depression. I just recently replaced it with a used Nikkon D3100 but I hate it. I only grabbed a 50mm lense for it and I really need a different lense for most the pictures I as m taking. I just don't know what I should get. Maybe a 35mm or a 28mm would be better? These look yellow on my phone. The looked decent on my computer. Oh well, I am sure they will get better as I get use to this new camera. Everyone always said I would love Nikkon if I tried one. Ha! Lies all lies. I want my Cannon back. :) I have been so frustrated with it I was ready to just switch to my point and shoot. LOL.

I think the biggest point in favor of it being original is the serial number on the bottom. I wouldn't expect that on a reproduction. But that's just my opinion.

You may have to adjust the white balance to get rid of the yellow cast. Editing programs like photoshop will also get rid of the cast so you don't have to take the pictures all over again.

Panasonic makes a fixed lens camera that has a great range and zooms up to 24X. I switched from my Nikon to this because it's just easier and less time consuming and less expensive than buying all those lenses. Here is a review on CNET for the Panosonic DMC FZ200.

Last year Sony came out with a point and shoot that has a large sensor like you find in the most expensive SLR cameras. It got rave reviews but it is expensive. I can't remember the model off the top of my head. I'm heading out to an appointment and will try and find it when I get back.
