Pie Crust Table

    underside.jpg Anyone recognise the plate on the underside of a folding burr walnut piecrust edge dining table?

    That English registry mark should tell you date and material, etc. You might have to do a rubbing to pull it all up. Love that top - usually only saw pie crusts on tilt top tea tables!

    The English Registration Mark (called a Lozenge or Diamond) only tells the year of registration and nothing else and cannot guarantee it is the same year of manufacture...although one would assume it would be the same or very close in pracaticality. One would have to consult the Patent Office for further details, if one was indeed applied for. .

    If you clean the plate off or at least provide the letters/numbers in sequence, I/we could date it for you.

    The registry mark almost certainly relates to the mechanism rather than the table design, so would have been used by many. Breakfast table.

    The registration mark would give a rough guide to the table manufacture between 1842 and 1883.

    Attractive table but I'm imagining crumbs in the lap rather easily.

    @Steve W ,like the table, like even more it reminded me I have an apple pie in the "Icebox"......
