Featured Picked this up today. Need help with Old German

I picked up a few books at an estate.
This one seems to be bound in hide and is very old.
I've photographed the title page, in the hopes someone can read this.
It's something like: "The Last Talk of the Dying..."

Die Letzte Reden der Sterbenden oder Predigten über Auserlesene Texte des Alten und Neuen Testaments - Last Words of (for?) the Dying, or Sermons about Selected Texts from the Old and New Testaments. Author: Conrad Mel.
There might be a date somewhere on the title page, or back of the page. Probably in Roman numerals. c.1710.

It's in really good condition, and has what looks like rawhide covers.
Apparently it's a first edition. Neat find.

 

Not the one I bought, but same edition. From the description, mine is in better condition. Some soiling and foxing, but binding is excellent and no bookworm damage or ragged page edges.

 

It is bound in vellum, very durable and not uncommon on early books, although 1710 is a bit late for its general use.
Religious books are often in really good condition because they sit on shelves unread for hundreds of years. Cookbooks and medical texts, not so much, but they were useful.

I notice it was written by Mel C, obviously some time before she joined the Spice Girls, making her rather older than she looks.
