    Hi all,
Long time since I have been here.
I have a supposedly 19th century italian pewter platter (inscribed 1854), from Alessandria, Piedmont. The touchmarks say "FIN PT" and "Millanetti Alessandria" (or "Milianetti"?). I thought the "fin" mark could be due to piedmont being on the french border. However, I can't find any information. Has anyone got a copy of Il peltro in Piemonte. Mastri peltrai piemontesi in Italia e in Europa and is willing to look the name up? I

I read Milianetti, with an i. Can't help with the book or mark, sorry.
Fin could be a Piemontese word. I believe @aaroncab 's ancestors are from Piemonte.:)

    You rang :) ?

I'm seeing Flli (Fratelli) Milianetti - Alessandria. Can't say much more than that. Maybe the "FIN" you're seeing is actually TIN? Although the very few pieces of Italian pewter I've seen have been marked "Peltro".

My ancestors are mainly from Liguria - mostly around Savona :) But I don't know much about the Alessandria area but hopefully someone will!

EDIT - I do see the FIN PT mark now - does look like FIN - I would think Alessandria is a bit far from either the France border or Swiss border to adopt any of their marking ways - but who knows.
