Litre size. Only these two markings by the handle.

Terry, this touchmark seems to be an "Unidentified modern marks." Pat's old pewter site site that can be access through the "Internet Archive WaybackMachine," has the mark on his "Unidentified Marks" page, Following is a link to the page. It took several seconds for the page to load for me this morning. I was afraid it wouldn't. Soooo if slow, do let it keep trying.
    3rd down on the left:

On the same site I tried to ID the country-of-origin of yours from overall shape and handle. The closest was French metric measures. There are pics of 3 of them. The one without a lid looks very much like yours. The following info was given:

"Metric Measures, throughout the 19th century and into
the 20th century. Three types: lid falls inside the collar,
lid falls outside and no lid."

Scroll a good 3/4ths of the way down the page or the 4th set of pics **up** from the bottom of the page:

Nowww I only looked at the first 4 countries/regions by shape. When I saw these French measures, I didn't look any further. Do look at all the pages of the shapes by country/region. The country by shapes page links are in the index down the left side of the webpages.

Thank you. I always remember that someone posted a link about a good pewter marks site. I didn't know it was defunct.
