Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Before I say too much, I MUST preface this with the fact that this little magazine is SO FAR WAAAAAY PAST It's PRIME -- it's EXTREMELY TENDER!!! The date is 1872 and it's approximately 7" wide by 10" high. There are approximately 90 pages, only 4 actual pages of advertising!! There are 12 pages of images (2 in color...one of which is a double which I'm going to print...the other is a chair seat pattern....not uploading that one.....JUST a bunch of fun stuff to look at.....don't know that there's any value here considering the condition, especially the cover!!! What say one, what say you all!!!!!:):):):):) AND ALWAYS Thank you for Your Most WISE input!!!!! OOOOPS Forgot, only 10.....will upload the cover right below!!!!!

Thanks Bakers, so many of the images had "bleedthrough" on them from the printing on both sides.....I didn't want to edit them but only a little bit!!! And in better condition than mine....10 years newer, they range from $7. to $12. Not worried about that though!! Just fun stuff!

    I've always liked such things.

I learn a lot from them.

The walking outfits remind me of the illustrations for "A is for Anabelle." That was one of my favorite books.

Aquitaine, what a wonderful "find." Love the clothing and illustrations thereof.

Did any others find the following information on the cover in Post #2 interesting?

    "Terms
    Two Dollars A-Year,
    Invariably in Advance."

Am I the only older woman who positively shudders at the thought of hot flashes in all those layers of clothing?!?

I am well past the hot flashes too but I don't think I would have lived through them in those garments. I would probably have wound up in the care of one of the mental institutions after I stripped down to my skivvies in the wrong place screaming like a mad woman....:wacky:

HA!!! Yes!! And did you read the side-script too about the Postage being 12 cents a year, payable in advance, three times a year, at the office where the subscriber resides!!!!!

AND, JUST one more image....PROMISE!!!!! I scoped a similar image from "another" site, to compare to 9 years difference......in the dress styles.....apparently the women like the fashion changes as well....higher collars, but trimming down the other extra layers????!! But then again, as I look, maybe mine is more 'ballroom dress' and the other is 'street dress'....still think they are 'slimming' it down though!!!!

Aquitaine, I had missed that "side-script" about the postage.

Obviously the company/owner(s) of the magazine left nothing to chance or a misunderstanding. :D

Love the pictures BTW! They were indeed slimming down. You wouldn't be hiding any extra pounds in the dresses from 1881 for sure!!!
