I bought this box couple days ago on flea market and been trying to figure out country of origin as well as hallmarks.
I think it is Persian or from similar country. Can't make out hallmarks. Material is most definitely silver.
Any one could help me with this item?

    Thanks much

It is beautiful lennyt. I'm sure it will look stunning once you've polished it a bit.
Just a question, is that small indentation on the corner a mark or just a small dent? If it is a mark, could you take a focused picture of it?

So far I see no specific Persian/Iranian marks, but the national marks were not always used.
It could be the Syrian - Iraqi cultural area. Known for the manufacture of excellent pieces. The styles are related to Persian styles.
The top mark is for .800 silver. There is a crescent moon with the mark, which could mean this was made during the Ottoman occupation of the region, pre-1920. There is no Turkish Tughra mark.
Iran was never occupied by the Ottoman Turks.
The lower mark is probably the maker's mark. Maybe our new Jordanian member @Mohammad H can read it. Mohammad, can you help us please.

Thank you for your help, Mohammad.
That would probably make it Persian. A Turkish piece would most likely have a Tughra mark.
lennyt, if the indentation is a mark, it could tell us more.
