Perfume Bottle

Bought this perfume bottle today.
I found a few online that look the same, and most of them saying it's silver (plated). The cap does look like silver plated (the rest looks more like pewter), but I didn't find any marks indicating this. I did spot something that looks like initials and something that looks like 2 letters (CJ) in a circle.
And any idea how old this is and which brand used this type of bottle?

 

I don't know about marks but I believe this is a recent bottle made in China. It was not used by any perfume company but was sold empty so you could put in whatever fragrance you liked.

If you do a Google image search with that first photo my guess is you will see many others just like it.

I bought one of these new for a friend in the nineties.

 

And was it indeed a 'made in China' item? And does this mean the 'since 1865' sticker is just a gimmick?

 

From memory, it was a British retail company called Past Times. I can’t recall where they were made though. (French?)
