I will take a picture of this when I get a chance, but am attaching a photo of information on the back first. Does anyone know what any of this means? Also, I can't tell if it's original or print and what material. It looks like board on the back. There are some scratch marks on the painting, which I will post then. Thank you for any insight! Sorry for screenshot, but my pictures are too large to upload, it says.
Welcome! When you do get the rest of your photos to upload, please click the "full image" button and your pics will show up in the message like this: (deleted mine because the example was no longer needed!)
It looks to me like this is either a photo (by Jerzy Malinowski) of the original painting or a print of a photo of the original painting. But that's complete guesswork without seeing the piece.
To determine if yours is reproduced, one will need close up photos to indicate brush strokes or a printing method. https://swiatfototapet.pl/reprodukcje/wojciech-weiss/piwonie-wojciech-weiss.htm
From the information on the back, it looks like it is, as @Jivvy said, a photograph of a painting by the artist Wojciech Weiss. The original painting is housed at the District Museum Leona Wyczółkowski in Bydgoszcz, Poland. The photograph was taken by Jerzy Malinowski.
Yes, these things I have figured out on my own. Luckily, I also know that people still desire old items such as these.
seems he loved flowers. especially peonies (piwonie). https://www.google.ch/search?biw=15...&ved=0ahUKEwj7o62Co_7jAhVFTBoKHZPXA14Q4dUDCAY
Reproductions, aka “prints,” do not command anywhere near the value of the original. Some actual antique reproductions (ie, over 100 years old) can command a bigger value, but what you have is a relatively modern photographic reproduction of a minor European artist.
