Pearl Necklace Clasp ID

    Hi Everyone,

My girlfriend asked me to sell her pearl necklace, but I'm unable to determine the mark or ID the clasp. She received it 10+ years ago in Argentina.

I would really appreciate your help!

I have attached a photo of the clasp. It is small, but there appears to be the letter "H" with "wings" on each side, made up of three lines. Reminds me of an aviators wings. There is also the number "750 18x". What could that mean?

Based on my amateur tests regarding light, texture, size, weight, and teeth test, the pearls are authentic. But I'm not sure about the quality of the chain.

I have done research on google and various jewelry ID sites, but I can't find any mark with that pattern.

Any additional information about the clasp ID, pearls, or chain would be much appreciated.

    Thank you, everyone!
    Best,
    Tim

    Welcome Tim!
Always click box "post all as full image" after uploading your pics, to see them full size instead of thumbnails :cyclops:;)

I can't help for the maker's mark, but 750 and 18k (not x!) Mean it is 18 karats gold.
Model is a pearl station necklace, from the shape I believe the pearls are cultivated Chinese freshwater.

Thanks! That's really helpful. I'm so impressed how you can recognize those details about the pearls. I've edited the thumbnails now and they should appear as full images. Does that help at all?

Welcome, Tim. If the maker is South American, we may not do very well at identifying them. But think kyratango has told you all that really matters when describing the very pretty necklace for potential buyers. Unless the maker is famous, e.g., Tiffany, name of the maker does not really add value. The clue about the pearls is that they are not spherical.

I find this one very confusing, I can’t find much out about them. I leave it here to be further researched.

Wow that's incredible! You guys are amazing researchers. That seems like the best bet, Herco.

That they changed to Herco from Hermes Jewelry Co. makes sense of the wings.

Trademark owned by Her Jewelry Co. of San Francisco and active 1986 - 1993. Likely a Chinese importer.

The company appears to have operated under Hermes Jewelry Co., Herco Jewelry Co., and Her Jewelry Company. No association with Hermès International.

I, too, am VERY impressed with the detective work. How did you know about the Official Gazette of the US Patent Office? And how did you find the single relevant issue? Is this something that can be done by using the regular Google search box?

I googled jewelry maker mark H with wings, first.

I found it identified as Herco. To confirm, I googled Herco under Books to find that page.
