I picked up this Paul Revere plate marked 1786 a few months ago and can't find any info on it. The metal is very soft and non metallic. Any help would be appreciated

    Welcome Randall,
It looks like pewter to me. The stamps on the back will answer your questions. Some clearer lighter close ups and someone may be able to identify them.

I agree with Mikey. Very likely pewter and unlikely Paul Revere (either the initials or the man depicted. Those marks in the 4th picture need to be seen in better size and detail. As it is what little I can see tells me the plate is not from the USA.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Some indiscernible writing along with the marks, 2nd image looks like some sort of calculation, and last image shows an Eagle in the flower on 'Revere's' jacket........

The only part I think I recognize are crossed keys. These are from Stara's book Pewter Marks of the World.
