I recently found these pieces at a Goodwill and scooped them up real quick. Ive been trying for a few days now to identify them but have had zero luck and from what I have found its sort of dampened my spirits. The partial lamp on the right is quite substantial compared to another we own and lamps I grew up around. It has a nightlight in the bottom. The top takes a 10" fitting and the center chimney is 2 7/8" fitting. (both missing) I thought the plain base might have been the top but when arriving home I quickly realized my error. But for what I paid, neither is a loss and I might try to build the pair. On the partial lamp I found an odd engraving on the rim below the light switch that I can only make out to read "tousignant 032" and then 4 or 5 more numbers I cannot decipher. The quality of the engraving also tells me it was an electric engraver. I have one and found it difficult to use. All I can find under that name is a hockey player and an artist that paints. The switch key turns out to be a generic $0.31 piece I can buy online. And the art on both bases feels like a print rather than paint. And they match too well. Also, the metal pieces on the part built lamp have a real nice patina. The electrics look about 60's or 70's.
What im really Im wondering is, has anyone has seen tousignant engravings? And, while I think one lamp or maybe even a set would be pretty cool, is it worth it? [IMG]

Very pretty but I think contemporary to the electric components. You might find a matching shade eventually with diligent searching but would not count on it. Why not just remove the ring and use it with a glass chimney?

Can not comment much about the engraving without seeing it but doubt it has anything to do with the lamp maker the way you have described it

You can post a picture of the engraving, maybe someone can find something about it.

A milk glass shade with chimney would be attractive. Plenty of reproductions around.

Im actually about to buy a couple lots of lamp parts on ebay. So I might be able to build the second base. Ill try my best to get a pic of the engravings. Right after I post this reply.
A single glass chimney might look funny on a lamp this wide. And I dont want to cut the posts that hold the 10" shade base. Im more likely to go with Deborah about the milk glass shade.
Brad, I was really hoping to find the original components but Im quite certain these arent original pieces of any sort. Being pretty is their best trait. So Ill invest a bit to make them pretty. And enjoy them until I find a prettier set. BTW, I paid $9.00 for both pieces.

This is what I found with a high power flashlight. These photos were taken with a Samsung Galaxy S9+. So im trying my best. And I love the shade holder. I included a photo. Id much like to keep it.

There is a 9 or g that looks stamped. Is it?

The only markings ive been able to find is the sloppy engraving. Which isnt a stamp of course. Could you elaborate on where you see this 9 or g stamp? Or are you seeing this in the engraving?

My mother tells me to look inside the shade and base for inscriptions or markings. I have another lamp I found at a store called Savers. She wanted me to check the shade for a Fenton marking. Which it doesnt. She has a few lamp parts and one of them is a genuine Fenton shade.

This is our Savers find. I normally see this size of lamp as a table piece. This thing is jacked up to go next to or behind a couch/chair.

I believe that is where is says "Tousignant" Unless the g being a 9 makes a big difference.

No, I just thought it odd to have one stamped letter.

You can look under the base for markings, the glass check separately.

The metal base does have a raised 3030 number on it. Near the nightlight insert. And some leftover casting points that someone didnt file off. I havent taken the partial lamp apart because I have the matching globe piece with no markings. Im quite certain this is a 60's or 70's reproduction and they were once a pair. Maybe on either side of the couch. Maybe each side of a bed? I want to build them anyways. Im trying to negotiate a deal with a someone on ebay for some lamp parts.

So last night I was given a GWTW style kerosene lamp. The chimney broke. Which I can replace. And hopefully reinforce it to be more sturdy. It might be the shakiest kerosene lamp ive ever encountered. [IMG]

Have had a few of these over the years. There is also a red/yellow version. Think not terribly old and probably an import. 50's-60s?
