    That makes more sense, but I didn't want to presume.

    So do you know or can you find out any history of this set from your grandparents or other family members?

    Frankly doesn't look very comfy for these days of staying home.

    Ca. 1900, mahogany. Handsome, but not much in demand these days. In my part of the U.S. midwest the group would be in the very low $hundreds at auction.
