Papago Indian Bull Fetish 1910-1930

    Item #2 from same auction.. Described as "Papago Indian C. 1910-1930 Bull Fetish."
    Probably by favorite item of the bunch regardless if it is authentic Native American or not. I love the metal feet!

    A well equipped bull. ;)
    Probably Spanish, made of braided esparto grass. A similar technique is used to make baskets in Andalusia.

    Agree re Spain. A little souvenir and, to my eye, early in the era of mass tourism. As above, esparto used to make baskets in Andalusia and these chic persianas to keep out the summer sun.

    Definitely not Papago! They also make bulls similar to this in Mexico, and other Latin American countries.
