Palette Knife Maker ID

    Hi there!

    I have this 19th-century medicine chest which includes a small metal and wood palette knife. The stamp of the maker has been slightly rubbed away, but we are trying to identify it. Can anyone help?

    Could we see the whole knife ? Feel free to also post the chest if you like-antique storage pieces (medical,general store,etc) are rarely seen in our Furniture category- interesting furniture's always a treat.;)

    The first word is probably "Wilkinson", important manufacturers of all things steel in Sheffield. Then "Surgical _____ Makers"

    Thank you!! It looks like it says "Surgical Inst.t Makers" with 'instrument' being abbreviated

    That explains it - I could not make "instrument" fit.

    ***Beautiful old med case Rascal ! -beats a busted 1970's Sears headboard any day.
