Pair Solid Brass Elkington Candelabra from UK

    Hi all cdoes anyone know anything about the below.

    I am curious when they were made?

    the metal underneath looks old?

    they are very heavy and have been converted originally not electric as far as I am aware

    any information welcome

    Did you find an Elkington mark on this anywhere? Don't see that any of the pics you posted have one.

    The larger letters read MASON & Co.
    I can't make out the smaller letters.
    Elkington was "Elkington, Mason & Co" from 1842-61.
    It looks like the Elkington name is hidden behind the cord.
    Perhaps bronze, not brass?

    That doesn’t look as early as mid 19th century to me, much more 20th century and made as electric lamps. Better pics of the writing will tell, but there are a few Mason companies making lamps.

    If they really are Elkington, they'll be silver plate that's lost the plate.
