Pair of bronze (probably) vases

My mum is interested to know more about this pair of probably bronze vases she has. There is no mark I can find on them. One of them is split and they seem to have been formed from sheets welded together. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

 

The picture of the bottom isn't very clear. Is it concave or flat?

 

I think it's concave - sorry, I took the photo at my mum's and didn't realise it was blurry till I posted here :/

If it should be flat, and the vases have some weight to them.
I'm thinking 1860ish Chinese.
If no other ideas come along, you might have someone familiar with Asian items look at them.

 

It's too bad about that nasty crack, but they're quite attractive. I agree that they're probably Chinese, but will wait for the experts to figure out how old and maybe where in China they came from. (unless they're Korean; the Koreans did bronze pieces too.)

 

Oo, interesting. My mum says, "In fact one of [the bases] is slightly convex. The other is slightly recessed round the seam, but otherwise more less flat. It shows that they were at least partly hand-forged."
