Painting Signed Donna Mar(n)gene

Not sure if Margene or Mangene. Mid century? That must be the names of the previous owners on the back of the stretcher, Helgut + Gaugh.

You can't automatically assign the frame to the picture. I swap pictures and frames all the time. Is that on stretched canvas or artist's board? IMO it's an amateur painting based on primitive style and the fact that it looks like board. It looks like Mangone.

 

I also doubt the names are owners. More likely a frame shop called Helmut & Gaugh.
