Featured Painting by John Schmidt

    image.jpeg Does anyone know anything about this painting? It is Signed John Schmidt 94. This painting belonged to my grandparents and I saw it already in the 1970's so it must have been painted in 1894. My grandparents lived in the USA for many years before they moved back to Sweden so I believe this is an American painting. It is not very big, 10x15 inches. Any ideas would be highly appreciated.

    Lovely little painting in my opinion but I don't have any useful information.

    Are you sure it is an actual painting and not one of those prints from the 60s-70s that have a varnish over a textured print. Not sure what the term was for those.

    This is an actual painting. Oil on canvas. Junk or not? That's in the eye of the beholder.
