    Relatively new; I'd guess 80s or later. It's a nice example but I don't think it's been around all that long.

    Wouldn't really call this folk art. It is a fairly recent craft item. Seems that some folks want to paint rusty iron these days and others want to buy it ...... go figure :wacky::confused:

    In the old days they used scrap iron; they didn't paint it. The painting style on this is meant to look like old folk stuff, but from what I can see the paint is acrylic. OTOH somebody liked this enough to buy it.
