It reminds me of "The Lone Ranger" (?a mask, not glasses?).

Is there a date on the piece?

I don't have any idea if the Lone Ranger is still popular today, but somehow I doubt if he is. ;)

    Thanks. Lone Ranger indeed.
No siggy or date on the front. Cannot fully see the whole back because the canvas is laid over foamy pad. Will try to separate them if possible.

Wasn't there a movie made of the Lone Ranger within the past 2 or 3 years? Got lousy reviews and disappeared quickly, but perhaps it was the inspiration?

You're right, Bakersgma. There was a Lone Ranger movie in 2013 starring Johnny Depp.

Alec Sutton, you little rascal -- now if you had just said "Miss Kitty" I would not have had to look up "Kitty Russell"!!! :hilarious:

Just seen this thread and Baker beat me to it. Yes, there was a movie with Johnny Depp in it that was called The Lone Ranger. I do suspect that it was inspired from that movie due to the modern technique used, brush strokes and colors.

    Hi,
Just a piece of trivia. The original lone ranger did not wear a black mask. It was dark purple, saw on the AR. Some one had one given and autographed by the star.

I also loved the Rifleman and was in love with Johnny Crawford, even when he was a Mouseketeer.

Johnny Depp played a crazy Tonto with a dead bird on his head and his face painted. It was an awful movie. I had a wicked crush on Johnny Crawford, too. Sigh. Now he has a band that does swing music. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0186844/

I might be the only one that liked the Lone Ranger movie. I thought Depp's Tonto to be quite quirky, entertaining, and original. Wasn't the greatest movie ever but good for a couple hours of fun.
