PAging Davey or coin mavens please

    Picked these up over the weekend. I'm pretty sure the Filipino pesos are the real thing, but how about the reals? Decent repro or genuine?

    The 8 reales look like a common fake

    I agree with Terry on the 8 reales, they are heavily counterfeited. The coins from the Philippines lack a lot of detail on the obverse, so I think that they are likely modern Chinese copies as well.

    Yes fakers I`m afraid.
    The first should weigh 25g dead and only 100,00 were struck
    The 8 Reales should weigh 27.0674.

    Its best to carry a Rare Earth magnet when checking these.
    Look up on Youtube how to use one to test silver coins.
    They are really cheap on ebay but don`t put them with your phone or car remote or it will wipe the memory.

    Not a problem, they were cheap as chips and the bloke thought they were repro, so pretty honest! :)
