Makanudo There is no such thing as simple.Simple is hard.

This tin badge is 4.2x3.3 centimeters and I would like to know the country, age and what it was used for.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks!

Appears to contain the monogram letters of a business - A&C Co. rather than a military outfit. Could also move the ampersand to read AC & Co.

say_it_slowly The worst prison is a closed heart

Possibly a G if not a C. Pretty ornate font.

Does it have a garter design around the edge? I see what looks like a buckle.

I think you're right, Bronwen. What looks like a backwards G on the left is the buckle part?

Yep, that's it. And then belt holes around most of it. Pix out of focus, not sure what that other blip is.

It is easily flexed and seems too fragile for a belt buckle.
here is a mor clear photo.

We are not proposing your item is a belt buckle. We have made the observation that the design around the edge is a belt/garter, which you can tell because you can see the buckle at 7 o'clock.

On yours, the loose end of the belt is held in place by a loop called a keeper instead of being knotted back like this:
