This little knob was in the bottom of a box lot I recently acquired. I feel like I've seen similar pieces either on old kitchenware or possibly old toys. I was leaning more towards a kitchen piece, because of the vent holes in the top. But I've been unable to find a match. Does anyone recognize it? Thanks!

    I've seen it too.
For a chopper of some kind?
    Rubber stamp?

Thanks King - I still haven't had any luck finding a match. I see lots of wood and bakelite red knobs, but not many metal ones. It doesn't take up any room, so I'll just hang on to it until I discover its purpose.

Here's my WAG on what it may be ... reminds me of the holes I've seen on the end (where the flame comes out) of stick lighters ... so, maybe the end of a stick lighter that was shaped like a wooden match.

This is the Metalware Forum. Best Answer has not been available here since it's inception and Peter has not been able to figure out how to add it. :( (There have been at least 2 threads on the subject in Support, but maybe it's time to raise the subject again?)

Too bad some posters on this site are too stuck up with getting an expert answer from an expert 5 minutes after they post their unknown plate !!!!

WOW - I've never seen one of these. At least I was on the right track about the holes being vent holes. Thanks so much!

The longer one on this completed listing is an exact match:
