Origin of mask? Type of wood? Age?

Would anyone know the likely origin of this mask? The wood is very lightweight, and appears to be unstained... any thoughts on the type of wood?

I know the mask is at least 20 years old, and could be 50 years old or older. Any thoughts on the age?

Also, are the holes at the insides of the eyes so someone can see through? Which would make me think this may have been meant to actually be used?

The mask is only about 3-1/2" wide, so if meant to be used, perhaps for a child?

    Thanks!

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Can't wait for the mask-brainiacs to weigh in. Meanwhile, if you hold it up, can you actually look through the two holes functionally?

Oops, I forgot to put in the dimensions, which I just added to my first post.

Gila, yes, I can see through the holes, but only one at a time since the mask is only 3-1/2" wide.

a mask that size...the holes are not to see thru , it's just the way that style is made.
central or southamerican , i'd suspect.

It is as light as balsa, so that makes sense. Thanks, Komo!

3 1/2 in, wide, perfectly clean wood, I don't think it could be anything other than a souvenir, could it?

    It's the Batmomask!

Spring, it could well be a tourist thing. It is in pretty good condition, though not perfect.
