Oriental Water Dropper. Or is it?

I haven't got this yet but I just bought it and these are the seller's photos. It looks like an oriental water dropper with the tiny hole in the mouth but the description describes it as weighing 1.3kg and being 9" in diameter and 4" tall which is much bigger than a typical water dropper.

Vessels with similar tiny holes have been used in France for adding water to absinthe but I can't see one like it and everywhere I look takes me back to oriental water droppers.

    Any views?

Doesn't really look like a water dropper to me, looks more like a European majolica thing. Absinthe association is pretty exotic, might be a good sales keyword come-on.:bucktooth:
Also, flow would be regulated by thumbing the hole so the dispensing would come from the mouth ..so a kind of jug then?

It looks European to me too. It is nice, but I have no idea as to the use.
