IMG_0098.JPG IMG_0099.JPG There is a mark on the inner rim of this 5inch tall pot. I don't know anything about this piece. Can anyone tell me what the mark means, or provide any insight into the maker/where it was made/age/style? It has a rice grain sized indentation on one spot about 1 1/2inches from the bottom IMG_0104.JPG IMG_0094.JPG IMG_0096.JPG that looks like it happened when it was made, so I wonder if this is a "second."

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I don't know but since I like the design I'm commenting to send this back to the top in hopes you will get a more knowledgeable answer. Or even guesses!

Something missing a lid..... biscuit barrel? Slop jar? Probably circa 1890.

Thank you. I can't help thinking that those lines on the rim are a clue to something that is beyond the scope of a novice.

Brad - I think that you could be right, and it once had a lid - which would explain why the rim feels a little rough to the touch. I agree that it has some age to it - not simply a recent import. Thanks.
