Featured Opal? Tiny pendant

What do you guys think is the age of this pendant?What is the country of origin? It says sterling on the bale(hope that is the right word for it). That makes it north American, right? Do you think the pendant is opal? When I look at it through magnification I see small cracks but no bubbles. I also tried to capture the flashing. It is tiny. Sorry about the double photos. I don’t quite know what happened there. Thanks!

 

Looks like it could be Andamooka opal.

 

I would go for opal-coloured/iridescent glass

 

It looks like opal to me, but doublets or, more likely, triplets.

 

Doublets and triplets have a black/dark backing (onyx, ironstone,...) the "stones" in the pendant are clear, slightly blueish-iridescent on the back.

 

Solid opals, they have that transparent pastel look you often get on Ethiopian opals, although it is also found in other opal regions.
A bit too transparent for those pronounced, vibrant Andamooka opals imo.
