Old Wooden Clamp with Spring What is it?

    My husband found this in our barn. What is it and what was its use ? Measures about 9.5" Long - 4" by 2" Opening. It is weathered.

    Some sort of clothespin ? Maybe for something heavy like a rug or quilt .

    On a side note , my nephews , who are in their teens , found some clothespins in our kitchen drawer and had NO idea what they were ! Even after we explained to them ! Theyve never seen a clothesline , always having dryers . I felt ancient . :)

    Thank You! It did not occur to me that this would be a clothespin because of its size.

    My wire clothes lines are still in my back yard. I do not use them very often but I did when my 4 kids were at home. One of my Granddaughters asked me what a clothespin was. Johnny where has the time gone.

    Hi,
    I used several clothes pins in a game for a kids birthday party. You had to stand and drop a clothes pin into a milk bottle from your nose height. I was thinking about it last month but where do you find a milk bottle that is not in someone's bottle collection. Egad I am old.
