Looking for maker of this bowl. Stands 4" tall and 7 1/2" across the top. I looked in my Mccoy, Watt and Hull books. Is it RRPCO? bowl1.JPG bowl2.JPG bowl3.JPG

Hi Kath...saw your bowl posted yesterday & was curious about it because of hexagon base (have never seen one like it), so checked through some of my books for you...was mostly thinking it would be RRPCO (as you suggested) or Monmouth-Western Stoneware, but didn't see it in either book (but might have missed it). Also looked in my Antique Trader Stoneware book but didn't see it there either (that book has some Red Wing, too). Sorry I didn't find it, but thought I'd let you know at least that much. Candy

    Hi Kath,
I am also puzzled by the hex base. The only other piece I remember having that base was my Gram's. Hers was a square bowl with egg indentations Like a stack of eggs. I have looked for years for a bowl like hers but nothing. I am wondering if it might be just from a small company from the Ohio river area.

Thanks Candy and Greg. Its odd, I thought it would be Id-able. Usually I pick up stoneware bowls for a friend who collects. Her kitchen is amazing, so many bowls! I also picked up a matching dutch oven in the same pattern

    Could it be English?

    Hi,
The # 1 on the bottom is US, European has more of a slant. That is why even today I put a slash through my #7 so it will not be confused. I do the same with my Letter Z so it does not look like a # 2.
That unglazed rim under the lip is what is really throwing me. It just seems like I know what it is but I don't.
