will be hard to know anything without knowing the origin. from the size it would be for oil. can you make out any part of the scribbles ?

Fid, I bought this in Rhode Island but it could have come from anywhere. Wondering if this is a MA jug. I cannot make out the scribbles.

    Hi Kath!

I'm pretty sure it's an ovoid jug, with an Albany slip.....but wait for others to yay or nay. You might search those terms though.............

Thanks Judy. Glaze is darker then the normal Albany. Most likely a new England jug. Already talked to Crocker Farm. They are not interested which makes me think it is from NE. I don't think they deal much with that.

Nice jug Kath..........too bad it's not Crocker Farm interest, but I'm sure someone would love to add it to their collection.:cat:
