Can anyone help with this? What is the curtain-like decoration called?

    Thank you.

Often sold as art deco but could be a few decades later than the period. English, Dutch or Belgian are the most likely culprits for making this. Would call that a curtain style decoration as I don't think it really has a name. It is somewhat similar to linenfold carving in that it is supposed to represent fabric.

I guess I would like some clarification on this. I always assumed furniture like this to be art deco period 20s-30s but have heard from some in the UK that furniture like this was made well in to the 50s. Not being well versed in English and Continental furniture, I guess I would like to know what is correct..... or is it a particularly British thing that styles persisted and were made well after they died out of favor elsewhere? I know in the US, a decade or two run is about as long as anything lasted once we get in to the late 19th and 20th centuries (other than true antique reproductions).

These pics are in a pdf file. Some computers will require that they be downloaded for viewing. Mine scanned them for viruses and then gave me the option of saving or viewing. They were deemed clean by my anti-virus software. I would have reposted them here for convenience but they are too large.

I don't know about Britain, but Dutch Art Deco has a different history than French Art Deco. It is almost synonymous with the Amsterdam School and De Stijl (Mondriaan) etc.
The Amsterdam School celebrated it's 100th birthday last year. The period ended in 1939.
