Dimensions? Looks small, but sometimes pictures can be deceiving.

Just from the construction, I would guess a workshop table of some sort.

Workshop? With all that design on it?

I like the patterning, but it's not so much. Could be from a retail setting.

Maybe the hubby fashioned it for his wife, like a work table ? She could have her knitting or embroidery items next to her sitting chair.;)

I suspect it has been made up from older wood. If the item were as old as the wood looks, I'd expect to see pegs, not clout nails. The nails belie any intention to deceive, I just see something recycled as something smaller and handier.

It looks like it was loved and repaired a dozen times:p...what are clout nails?

Flat nails with roughly upset heads. I also see wire nails (round nails with round heads)

It almost has an Indonesian vibe to it, although it could be English or American, I suppose

I think Mexican or, possibly, American Southwest. Seems to have some age to it but not antique.

If you could ID the wood, you'd probably be able to pinpoint the part of the world it was from. I get an Indonesian vibe, too. Old wood remade into new pieces is very common,

On the last pic what looks like a nail and peg securing the brace under the drawer ....I put a heavy magnet to it...and got no reaction.
All the other nails drew the magnet in.

I see no evidence of this being made from pacific island wood.

How weird to not get any magnet to react to a nail?

One of them looks like a nail, but I'm not sure...
I may just try scratching it with knife.

Thru different eyes I'm seeing how it could be a cobbled together table , but although different styles , the nails used are old, ( save the new ones..) and so's the wood , so I dare say it's a real antique.

Maybe the nail is copper or bronze???
