    I know next to nothing about fabrics and am looking for opinions.Here's a shadow-boxed piece of fabric i just picked up.It's 15" by 15" framed.Is this a piece of Kimono fabric,or a part of Uncle Fred's old BarcaLounger ?
    As always-thanks.

    Looks machine-made, but older. Chinese.

    Thanks for the info Evely. For $5 I figured i could put my arrowheads in it.After buying,and then making my own frames for all our art & artifacts (actually 'knick-knacks !),I always look for tasteful shadow boxes.
    I bought a $25 one at Michael's a few months ago,went to resize it w/ the chop saw,and it was made of particle board ! Well,shame on me.

    It might be a Japanese brocade fabric, maybe part of an obi (sash).

    It's still a nice decorator item, and even machine-made fabrics can be worth something.

    That said... particle board....:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: BLETCH.
