Old Scrimshaw Pendant - Here's Hoping

I am always on the lookout for scrimshaw in any form. This a small slim pendant of less than an inch. A flower is depicted, and it is signed. It has turned brownish and has pockmarks of damage. The back has circular marks, which I hope my photos show. In researching about how to tell old scrimshaw, the recommendation was to use a black light to see if it fluoresces. It seemed to fluoresce to me, but I'll let you be the judge. The bail and chain are unremarkable. Any thoughts and comments would be gratefully appreciated.
