I picked up these pictures and wonder if they are collectible/valuable. A couple are marked Louis Oliver providence RI one says stiles 1910. Can't make out the rest.

Greetings, Mike! Glad you found us.

Without knowing who the sitters are this kind of 20th C. portrait photography isn't particularly collectible, IMHO. The two girls and young boy may find a buyer, just because they're attractive. But unless the sitter is an 'important person' there isn't much hope.

I did some research on Louis Oliver of Providence, just in case he was prominent. He was born 1870 in Manchester, NH but appears not to have set up shop in Providence until sometime after 1910. (In the 1910 Census he was in Worcester, MA, but by 1915 was in Cranston.) His listings in Providence business directories show him as just one of a long list of Providence photographers.

I couldn't read the handwritten signature on the distinguished fellow either.

Thank you for the info. I was assuming this was the case.. This was part of a large paper lot that hopefully has something a little more valuable.. I will post some of those pics soon..

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

The photographer's mark on the first one, of the woman, says FARLEY. I agree with Bakersgma's assessment about these. Will be interested in seeing more of the paper lot!

On that one, all I can decipher is the first initial J and the last line, '23.

Looks like 1923, and the last two letters look like 'th'......
