Old Peruvian tourist not tribal piece but I'm totally stumped

Hi, I just can't find anything similar to this. I know it isn't technically tribal art but maybe inspired by that. I can't tell what the thing is made of. I thought horn or shell and some pieces almost seem plastic. There are several areas held together by metal. I was thinking maybe a brush holder because of the notched appendages on one side and the small bowl on the other. It is marked Ayacucho Peru but researching that was no help. It stands around 5.5" tall and is about 7.75" wide. Any answers, ideas or leads will be appreciated.

I believe the material is horn.

It looks like horn to me. The bird looks like a peacock, a favourite in Peruvian folk art since the Spanish conquest.

Thanks everyone, I think bull horn is spot on. The link from Debora has some similar items but I'm either going to have to take a crash course in Spanish or else deal with the translation tool. I may contact them and send a picture to see what they think. I think mine is older and I'm still leaning toward a brush holder but at least I'm in the proper lane now. Thanks again and if anyone has any other thoughts I would love to hear them.

I think yours is older too and appears to have more artistic detail. To my eye, it looks like a cigarette holder and ashtray.

Yeah. That's what I think it is. Bull horn is used for such things. Here's another example. Different execution but same purpose.

Thanks Debora. That makes perfect sense. The curled up limes would be to hold the smokes. Luckily it doesn't seem to ever have been used for that.
