Looks like Cannery Row (of Steinbeck fame) in Monterey, CA.

Reminescent of Henry Aiken Vincent's work. Wonder if not "homage."

Certainly doesn't appear that works by same artist. Henry Aiken Vincent the better painter and he signed his works "Vincent." Also, from technique, yours dates to several decades later. Wonder if perhaps it's not a 1960s decorative piece inspired by Vincent's scenes of Gloucester Harbor.

Billy's definitely reminds me of some of the inner parts of the harbor of Gloucester, MA. 40+ years ago, of course.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

The ONLY time I ever saw THAT MUCH coating on a "painting" was when I was transferring a print onto either canvas or wood......you had to heavily coat the print first.....then soak it in a tub......then peel the backing off.....the print had transferred to the coating....which then could be applied to the wood or canvas.....it was a fun thing I tried MANY years ago...a few times....then lost interest. Way too much work!!!!! BUT the large thick strokes of a coating quickly brought back that memory......and I could totally be WAY off base!!!!
