Old painting of the angelus?

    Found this it at my localnl thrift. Old painting of the angelus. Its canvas but there is a very old board over the back of it. Should I just keep it as is or remove the board?

    Are you sure that the art is actually on the canvas? Would be odd to mat a canvas and put it under glass.

    Here are 2 more pics. I peeled the wood back and this what it shows. Im not sure why they framed it like this? It looks like canvas but maybe something else?
