I have absolutely no idea about age or location, but from a design standpoint it looks efficient and very useful. The sharply up-tilted spout and wide neck make a perfect funnel for filling - which of course one has to do before emptying - which the hefty handle and the spout are perfectly formed for as well, albeit for emptying into a wide mouthed goblet or basin, etc. Strictly utilitarian, but elegant in its line and proportion.........

It might be another shipwreck jug like you posted the other day. This one looks like it's had almost all of the encrustation removed.
If you Google search with different combinations of keywords: Minoan, Crete, pottery and/or shipwreck, some ewer jugs of very similar shape turn up in the search results.

Thanks for the replies. Could be something Ancient but wish I could narrow down the civilization. Maybe the round bottom can give some clues?
