Old lion head marker

    Can anyone help identify what this is . It’s very heavy

    This may be a real stretch, but...if we're allowed to guess: a marker for a golf tee box or some such. Usually tee markers have a yardage or something on them, so probably not.

    My first thought was a bottle opener, LOL... but you don't say what size the item is?
    It does appear that it's meant to be pushed into the ground.
