Have had this hanging in a hallway (believe it or not) for the last twenty something years. Belonged to one of my grandmothers who didn't hang it. (Was in her attic). Always thought it a little bizarre but the wife likes it. I'm guessing french? Obviously hand carved. Also wondering about it's age and style, (if there is such a thing with mirror frames). Thank you for your comments.
oh...how dainty !!!...........................Not !! Still...nice work on the wood ! & yes....the frames have the same age & style attributes as furniture..
I would guess its Italian,I suck at age but Im guessing 1880s-1900. I think its beautiful ! Love the painted trim.
And I would call it Italian three. That carved Baroque/Rococo style with floral painting is very popular in South Tyrole, a beautiful mountainous area in northern Italy.
