I recently got a huge lot of pottery, hundreds of pieces, from an estate buyout. I was told that some of it was made by a Japanese "National Treasure". Some pieces have old stickers from a gallery, and there was a booklet from the gallery but its too water damaged to even open. I'm trying to identify the hundreds of pieces I have, but am getting nowhere.

Some pieces have marks on the bottom, some dont. Some may have a signature, I can't tell for sure.

I am posting some pics, and hoping that someone here can either help or point me to where I need to go.

Welcome SocoGabriel - The title of the gallery booklet may be helpful if it can still be read. Perhaps someone is familiar with the gallery and can determine if it is still operating. Or perhaps other copies of the booklet exist.

If no one here can help you there is a Facebook page specifically for collectors of Japanese pottery. I've only ever seen them deal with marked pieces but some of the members of the group are quite knowledgeable. The page title is Collecting Japanese Ceramics and Arts. Ive attached a link directly to their page below. You will need to become a member but it is not difficult to join. Good luck. Don

    Thanks Don.
The gallery is out of business unfortunately, but I will see if I can get any info out of the booklet. And the fb group is a great place to start also, thanks.

Hi, the lidded jar is Onta-yaki. Most of the rest seem to be by one and the same potter, except the crackle glaze vase and maybe the piece above it. For identification help I also recommend the facebook group mentioned by dgbjwc...
