Old chalkware trinkets?

I recently purchased a large lot of what I was told are old chalkware carnival prizes. There are several sorts, but most of them are snowmen. They are all discolored in areas and I haven't been able to remove all the staining. Can anyone estimate the age? Cleaning tips would be helpful as well--so far a magic eraser seems to do the best job. Each one is about as big as a thumb.

    TIA,

Perhaps someone will know but the few pieces of chalkware I've had have all been solid bottomed. It's just making me curious if yours might be made of something a bit sturdier.
