    hi folks

this was another local auction win from the weekend. for not very much
i think people were put off by the damage to the nose, and they didnt state a size

luckily its quite small, so the damage isnt as apparent

i think theres a name for this type of ware ?

not sure if its of anyone in particular, or of a artwork

thinking its gotta be late 19th century ?

    any thought or info appreciated

Wow-That's a beauty,a cross btw Della Robbia & Mucha. Is that plaster, bisque, porcelain, other ? Could be a very simple repair-I'd do it gratis, but the post would prob be a 100 pounds or more.

What is the monogram on her pendant? AB/BA? Reminds me a bit of renditions of the Dying Cleopatra I have seen.

She's lovely. And quite a high relief. Assume the A+S or S+A means she portrays a specific figure but no idea who. Backing looks newer than frame. And here's an example of The Dying Cleopatra. Wax behind glass. Robert Bateman Wray. 18th century.

Thanks deb, close but no cigar

It's a very undignified image of her like that, with her tongue sticking out

Looks a bit like me Monday morning going to the post office

It almost look like the lady in the pair of bas reliefs mentioned was heavily glazed or actually painted, and without too much finesse.
PS-Do you own the wax Cleopatra ? it's superb.

Those ones are stated in item material as brass and resin

There's something about mine that looks like it has a uneven colour as well though, I mean the nose damage underneath looks white
