Old bronze(?) tray with lion passant silver marks?

Hi. I've had this tray for decades. I just noticed the marks on the underside a few weeks ago.
Its very difficult to research as mention of the marks always leads to silver items.
The marks are a crown, a lion passant guardant, a lower case 'a', and an upper case 'B' on a shield shaped stamp.
Hopefully I will manage to add images.

Any information at all would be appreciated. Cheers/

As the others said, we will need to see more photos.
I wonder if it used to be plated. Some silverplate makers used marks that resemble British silvermarks. Maybe @Bakersgma recognizes them.

Sorry to say this member of the gaggle doesn't have a clue.

 

A decade later and I still don't know the mark, but at least this piece, even if we never get to see a full view, would seem to confirm silverplated base metal (would suggest age-oxidized brass here rather than bronze). Teared up a bit because I just so miss our lovely, bright and generous Ladybranch, and AF as well, so knowledgable and witty:
