Owliza I really DO keep my tree up a bit too long...

I bought some brass candlesticks over the weekend to brighten next year's Xmas table but what did I buy? 1 pair is remarkably like the one's that @evelyb30 posted last week. I studied her pics and lo and behold saw the same the following day. Joy!

The other pair look like this: IMG_20230206_200904_(1000_x_2100_pixel).jpg IMG_20230206_200807_(2000_x_2000_pixel).jpg IMG_20230206_200647_(2200_x_1500_pixel).jpg IMG_20230206_200553_(2200_x_1500_pixel).jpg
They are about 9.5 inches tall. Yes, they have a bit of the greenies :(. I assume they have some age because, like the ones posted last week, one of these has an ancient cork shoved inside the base. They don't look like modern Indian stuff to me. There may be a mark/writing on the base of one but if it is one it is verrrry poorly stamped. It might also just be some roughness. When I can find a bloody pencil I am going to try and do a rubbing.

The last 2 pics are horrible but I hope they illustrate a bit. Inside the tube for the candle and above the platform for the ejector thingy there are 4 recessed cavities. In form they kind of remind me of primitive fireplaces if you can imagine that.

    My questions are:
-Where on earth was this possibly made?
-When in time was this possibly made?
-What us with the cavities in the inner wall? Is it to ease removal of candle stubs? Does it help with dating? Do the cavities have a name?

Thanks in advance for any information!
